Problem -
HEATER CONTROL - TEMPERATURE - FACE / FEET SETTING
1. Air exiting the footwell vents is warmer than the air exiting the face vents when the air distribution control is on the Face / Feet setting.
2. When the temperature control is turned from cold whilst on the Face / Feet setting, the temperature increase of the air from the footwell vents is excessive.
Cause
The heating and ventilation system is designed so that when on the Face / Feet setting, warmer air is distributed through the footwell vents while cooler air is distributed through the face vents.
Action
Read and fully understand the following and advise the customer accordingly: -
- There is not a problem with the heating system, it is operating as designed.
- When the air distribution control is on the Face / Feet setting, the temperature of air supplied to the footwell vents will always be greater than that supplied to the face vents.
- When on the Face / Feet setting, the temperature of the air from the footwell vents will increase greatly as the temperature control is moved away from the cold position. The face level vents will remain cold until the half way point on the temperature control is reached.
- If the air distribution control is set at either the full face or full feet positions, the air temperature increase will be gradual as the air temperature control is turned.
