Re-Issue Information 

Problem -

INTERMITTENT ELECTRICAL PROBLEMS

The engine may not start / starts intermittently.

Cause

The battery clamp nut and bolt on the positive or negative terminal may break.

Action

Where a complaint of the above is confirmed, follow the procedure below to replace the battery clamp nut and bolt, which is now available from Land Rover Parts.

Refer to PARTS INFORMATION for part number detail.

Procedure

1. Release fixings and remove battery cover, Range Rover and Discovery Series II only.

2. Remove broken nut and bolt from battery clamp.

3. Fit new nut and bolt to battery clamp and tighten to 5 Nm.

4. Fit battery cover and secure with fixings, Range Rover and Discovery Series II only.
