At the wheel, Land Rover heritage is evident in the command driving position and good all round visibility. The substantial, linear fascia moulding is quintessential Land Rover; other familiar styling cues are the rolled front section, rubber stowage mats, the instrument binnacle design and the 4-spoke, height adjustable steering wheel.

New instrument pack

The instrument pack with a new dark green colour differentiates it from earlier models, and is now a completely electronic microprocessor based system as opposed to the previous electro-mechanical system. This is the gateway which communicates with the rest of the vehicle.

Additional warning lamp

Several new lights are included in the instrument pack for transfer of information to the driver 'as it happens'. These include the following:

Consoles

The centre console has been redesigned for ease of use. The switches situated beneath the heater controls have been arranged for simplicity.

The lower centre console now features a larger ashtray, a coin tray, mat and switches for the sunroof, drop down tail door glass, central locking and (where fitted) heated seats.
