Fitting Valance Fog Lamps (STC53080)

NOTE: These instructions assume no other auxiliary lights are fitted to the vehicle.

Note: These pictures are intended as a guide, this is a complicated install and should only be performed if you feel competent enough.

--> Parts included in kit. Note differences between LHD and RHD.
Tools needed
Firstly lift the bonnet of the Freelander.
Detach the earth lead from the battery.
Detach the positive lead from the battery.
Under each front wing remove the panel that allows access behind inner wing.
Undo the retaining bolt, repeating on other side.
Undo the two screws as indicated, again repeating on other side.
Undo two screws under front of bumper, just in front of the wheel, and repeat for other side.
Remove the two screws in the middle of the front bumper.
Undo three retaining screws under lower grill as indicated.
Undo four screws at the top of the bumper as indicated.
Unhook the bumper at both sides were it joins the wing.
Remove the bumper completely and place on soft surface to prevent being scratched.
Use the 8mm drill to start a hole in the bumper for the foglights as shown, then cut out the section and file smooth.
Attach the 3 fasteners to the foglight surround.
Fit surround into hole in bumper.
Fit two fasteners and 2 screws as shown.
Remove fuse box cover.
Undo two 10mm bolts.
And three 10mm nuts to remove the fusebox..
Trace cable to bulkhead to find grommet.
Snip off end of grommet as indicated.
Trim excess of wire as shown.
Attach two ends of the engine bay wiring loom to a piece of stiff wire with some insulating tape
And push through grommet
Bring wires into passenger footwell. Note picture shows LHD car, and is incorrect.
Attach plug to wires.
