Problem -
WHISTLING NOISE AT SPEEDS ABOVE 50 MPH (80 KM/H) FROM THE DOOR MIRROR AREA
Cause
There is a noise path into the vehicle via a gap between the ends of the front door glass inner channel seals.
Action
Where a complaint of the above is confirmed, follow the rectification procedure below to replace the inner channel seal with a new joined seal, now available from Land Rover Parts.
1. Move the cheater panel aside for access. Refer to Workshop Manual, part number LRL0350 (4 th edition), In Car Entertainment, Speaker - tweeter - front, repair number 86.50.34.
2. Lower the front window to access the inner channel seal.
3. Release and remove the channel seal from the inner front door aperture flange.
4. Position the new channel seal to the inner door aperture flange, fit seal into lower front corner, and working rearwards secure seal to the door aperture flange (arrowed in illustration 1).

5. Raise and lower the window glass checking for a smooth operation.
6. Fit and secure the cheater panel. Refer to Workshop Manual, part number LRL0350 (4 th edition), In Car Entertainment, Speaker - tweeter - front, repair number 86.50.34.
NOTE: It is important that the parts are fitted to the correct hand of the vehicle. Failure to do so may result in the seal shot moulded joint becoming damaged whilst operating the window.
