Problem
OIL LEAK FROM CAMSHAFT COVER TO CAMSHAFT CARRIER JOINT
Cause
Loss of clamp load due to relaxation of the gasket material
Action
Where a customer complaint of oil leakage is confirmed to originate from the camshaft cover gasket, replace the gasket with new part LVP100630L.
Ensure that machined faces are not damaged prior to fitting new gasket. Ensure also that camshaft cover to carrier bolts are torqued in the sequence shown in the Workshop Manual and reproduced here.

NOTE: The new camshaft cover gasket LVP100630L can be identified as having a crimped edge unlike previous gasket LVP100260 which was completely flat.
